Graduate Course Changes and Program Withdrawal

Dropping or Adding Courses

Graduate students may add or drop a course within the first three (3) days of the term.

Withdrawing from a Course

Graduate students may withdraw from a course and receive a grade of "W" within the first 30 days of the term.

Program Withdrawal

Graduate students who wish to withdraw from their program must submit written notification to the Registrar no later than the final day of the term.

Students serving as Graduate Assistants (GAs) should be aware that withdrawal may carry financial and housing consequences. Prior to initiating withdrawal, GAs must consult with the Vice President of Human Resources to review their contractual obligations. Consequences may include, but are not limited to, full responsibility for tuition and housing costs incurred up to the date of withdrawal.

Students who fail to actively participate in a course for ten (10) consecutive days may be subject to administrative withdrawal from the program.

Students withdrawing due to a medical emergency should contact the Registrar’s Office to request a medical withdrawal from the program. Supporting documentation may be required.
