This course is an introduction to the nature of light and its uses. It begins with a study of geometric optics, including reflection, refraction, lenses and mirrors, and then moves to topics in physical optics, such as interference, diffraction, coherence, and polarization.
Prerequisites
PHYS 201-202 or permission of the Chair of the Department.
