This course will introduce students to the major mental disorders as classified by the American Psychiatric Association. Additionally, the etiology, assessment, and treatment of mental disorders will be presented from an integrated approach that comprises biological, social, and psychological influences. Moreover, students will be exposed to advanced psychological terminology as well as the ethical issues associated with psychiatric labels and intervention.
