This course provides students with a comprehensive overview of the field of Forensic Psychology, a discipline in which empirically validated psychological research findings are used to inform court decision- making. Some of the specific topic areas to be covered include: the history and evolution of the field, false memory, eyewitness testimony, psychopathy, child custody decisions, violence risk assessment, competency to stand trial, and civil commitment.
