Learning Outcomes 

At graduation, a student who majors in Biology will: 

  1. understand the five key concepts of:  Evolutionary patterns of unity and diversity, Heritable information flow, Interplay between Structure and Function, Transformations of Energy and Matter, and Interactions between and within systems and apply these to current issues. 
  2. demonstrate mastery of the scientific method by evaluating scientific problems and analyzing associated data.  Create and conduct a relevant research project within the field of Biology 
  3. evaluate current research in Biology, demonstrating effective written and spoken communication skills 
  4. acquire the content and skills necessary for science-related careers, professional or graduate programs
